Norways onslaught of quality extreme bands has
not let up (or let down fans!). Now the country that birthed some of the
genres best (many on Candlelight Records!), comes Ravenous Deathworship, the
scorching debut from The Deviant. With riffs recalling the glory of early
Slayer and drums that rival extreme metals most cherished players, Ravenous
Deathworship is a stellar beginning for this nearly two year old band.(Est.
2003) Formed from the ashes of popular cult band 122 Stabwounds (Head Not
Found) with former Gehenna/Forlorn vocalist Dolgar, The Deviant signed to
Tabu Records (with US partner Candlelight Records) shortly after the release
of their highly regarded (and only) demo Intimate Skinning. And now music
fans worldwide can hear why they have come so far in so little time.
Recorded at Real Noice Productions and mixed by Lars Klokkerhaug at Subsonic
Society (Enslaved, Susperia, Darkthrone), Ravenous Deathworship is a great
start from a promising band.
Influences: Slayer, Morbid
Angel, Deicide, Immortal, Darkthrone, Bathory, Mötley Crüe, Accept, Burzum,
Metallica, Carcass, Entombed, and the list goes on..
